There are thousand of people who take surveys, so no business could afford to pay survey takers a large amount. It's not worth the time for a $10 study, and most of the time you wind up not qualifying for the $10 and get entered into the contest instead. You occasionally get to see a product or commercial before it appears to the rest of the world, and sometimes you can see the changes that you (and all the other takers) recommended.
